Abstract: Human height is a polygenic and complex trait controlled by numerous genes. One major condition related to it is short stature, which may arise from defects in the SHOX gene region on the PAR1 of both X and Y chromosomes. The condition can also result from hormonal or protein-level disruptions. Treatments such as recombinant human growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor therapies have shown promise.
