Dr. Asifa Tufail is an experienced economist and educator, currently serving as a Visiting Lecturer at Barani Institute, Burewala (PMAS-Arid Agriculture University) and Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Vehari Campus. With over a decade of teaching and management experience in renowned institutions such as The City School and public universities, Dr. Tufail brings a blend of academic excellence and practical leadership to the field of education.
Her academic journey is marked by continuous learning and impactful research in development economics, gender studies, and poverty analysis. As a committed mentor and educator, she guides students with a strong focus on analytical skills, policy evaluation, and critical thinking in economics. Her dedication to teaching and mentoring has earned her recognition for fostering student growth and engagement both in and beyond the classroom.
Dr. Asifa Tufail earned her PhD in Economics from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, where she focused on rural development, gender asset ownership, and socio-economic challenges in South Punjab. She holds an MPhil in Economics from the same university and completed her Master’s in Economics from Punjab University, Lahore. Dr. Tufail began her teaching career at The City School, Burewala, in 2012, where she held several leadership roles including Management, Timetabling, and teaching O-Level Mathematics. Since 2015, she has been part of the Barani Institute, Burewala, and since 2017, has served BZU Vehari Campus as a Visiting Lecturer. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to student development, interdisciplinary research, and academic quality.
